A Blue Eyed Girl and a Mississippi Boy

Cliff and I will celebrate 2 years of marriage on Monday. Here’s just a small glimpse of what life has been like. Maybe one day, I’ll give you the whole story.

Near the Missisippi River in 1983, a green eyed Mississippi boy was born.

On a rainy day in 1985, a blue eyed girl was born to two Yankees with Southern roots.

The Mississippi boy lived like a true Southerner.

While the blue eyed girl was dining with Royalty… betcha didn’t know Princess Diana was my aunt!

The Mississippi boy had plenty of opportunities for fame, but passed up the role of Harry Potter.

While Missisippi Boy was looking like Harry (never tell him I said so!) the Blue Eyed Girl’s daddy was moving the family to Northeast Tennessee. She was cute.

But turned into an awkward teenager just like anyone else…

Mississippi Boy must have been in protective witness program or something because I cannot find pictures of him anywhere!

They both went on with life after high school. Blue eyed girl doing too much with her friends and Young Life girls to be concerned with dating or any silly ‘ole boy!

Mississippi boy became a Tennessee boy during this time when he came to work at a camp in the mountains. The two “met” at the camp when she gave him a hair cut. Then he scared her as a clown.

Mississippi boy and Blue eyed girl became  one on May 9, 2009. He got her good with the cake.

And then there was celebrating…. lots of it!

May 9th just happens to be Blue eyed girl’s big brother’s birthday. So they shared some special moments.

Blue eyed girl and Mississippi boy started a new chapter that day. A chapter that would be different than any other. A chapter that would make them more like Jesus in even ways they could never have imagined. They spent their honeymoon in their favorite city, Charleston South Carolina eating seafood every day. My mouth is watering right now thinking about it….

When they got home, real life began as a newly married couple.

There would be great days.

And there would be days that were harder than all others.

The whole time, they would find rest in God alone.

As year number 3 comes steaming through the door, we’re turning the page on a new chapter. . .

Baby Pyles is scheduled to join us in November. The 13th to be exact so say the doctors. Baby is just over 3 months old. He/she is the special project I’ve been working on. Just ask Cliff, I’ve been sleeping at like 8 in the evening. Whoa!

Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. (Ps. 127:3)

And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. (Deuteronomy 6:6 & 7)

    Allie!!!!
I thought this was the “exciting news” that you had to tell me!!! My only other thought was that for some reason you were coming to Spokane, WA….the only thing that would be second best:)

I am SO excited for you two!!! Baby Pyles doesn’t even know how blessed he/she is going to be to have YOU as Mom!

and miss you both. Gavin still talks about you all the time. He just asked if you would be at camp at Doe River? Told him probably not. That you are a bit busy at the moment.
